JOB OPPORTUNITY AT JAPAN INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AGENCY (JICA)
Position: Public Private Partnership (PPP) Coordinator
 Location: Abuja

 

Background

 

Our company, ACE HUMAN RESOURCES CONSULTING,  is recruiting for our Client, JICA, a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Coordinator who can proactively engage in JICA’s operation in Nigeria, meet the highest standards in compliance with JICA corporate policy and culture thereby contributing to JICA’s strategic objectives. JICA is the governmental agency that delivers the bulk of Official Development Assistance (ODA) for the government of Japan.
The PPP Coordinator shall closely collaborate with members of the JICA Nigeria Office to enhance PPP projects implemented by JICA Nigeria Office such as “Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Business Support Projects (SDG Projects)” and “Private Sector Investment and Financing Projects (PSIF Projects).

 

Duties and Responsibilities
*Operations related to the SDG Projects and the PSIF Projects-
*Responding to inquiries and individual consultations by Japanese private companies on JICA’s PPP schemes (about 2~3 cases per month) 
 *Formation of “SDG Projects ” (about 6~8 projects per year) and their implementation supervision / monitoring (3 projects as of now)- 
*Dissemination and publicity of the SDG Projects and PSIF Projects in Nigeria through the JICA website, Facebook, etc. (6 times a year) 
*Preparation of presentation materials and holding seminars to introduce SDG Projects to Japanese companies (6 times a year)- 
*Dissemination of the results of SDGs Projects and support for promoting commercialization (to be implemented in the future because there are no projects that have been completed) 
*Sharing information and promoting collaboration with JICA projects in Nigeria (Discussions and interventions with on-going projects (about 12 cases per year)).
*Operations necessary to strengthen cooperation between private companies and JICA-
 
Networking and information exchanges with Japanese government agencies (Embassy of Japan, JETRO, etc.), Nigerian agencies (Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (SMEDAN), Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA), Lagos State Government, Coordination with the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NACCIMA), universities, etc., 
*Planning and holding seminars for Japanese companies to introduce the current situation in Nigeria 
*Planning and holding seminars for Nigerian companies (On necessity basis) 
*Planning and operation of study tours for Japanese companies/organizations, etc. (On necessity basis) 
*Planning and operation of study tours for Nigerian companies/organizations, etc. (On necessity basis) 
*Administrative and accounting operations incidental to the above. 
*Other duties separately instructed by the Chief Representative of the JICA Nigeria Office. 
General and Professional Requirements
Applicants must have an educational background equivalent to a university graduate (working experiences through which candidates gained competencies equivalent to university graduates may qualify this requirement). 
 Sufficient ability to read, discuss, and write reports in English. (It is preferable to have ability to perform works in Japanese) 
Must be able to operate Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 
At least 3 years of work experience in government offices, companies, NGOs, etc. (Experience in private-sector collaboration work is preferred.) 
Have professional discipline based upon a serious sense of responsibility to his/her work.
Be able to fulfill all the tasks requested flexibly, positively with his/her initiative.
